Hallsville ISD parents and guardians are reminded that online registration for all returning students for the 2026-2027 school year is required.

Online registration will open on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Families should complete the registration process through the Hallsville ISD Family Access portal at family.hisd.com.

Completing online registration ensures that student information, emergency contacts, and required district records are up to date before the start of the new school year. All returning Hallsville ISD students must be registered online prior to the beginning of classes.

How to Register

1. Visit family.hisd.com.
2. Log in to your Hallsville ISD Family Access account.
3. Complete all required registration forms and information updates for each returning student.
4. Submit the registration when finished.

Hallsville ISD is proud to recognize four Hallsville High School seniors who have earned the prestigious AP Capstone Diploma following the 2025 Advanced Placement (AP) examinations.

The AP Capstone program is an innovative diploma program developed by the College Board that equips students with critical skills needed for success in college and beyond. The program consists of two year-long courses—AP Seminar and AP Research—which emphasize critical thinking, research, collaboration, and presentation skills.

To earn the AP Capstone Diploma, students must achieve a score of 3 or higher on both AP Seminar and AP Research, in addition to earning scores of 3 or higher on four other AP exams of their choice. This rigorous academic achievement demonstrates a student's ability to analyze complex issues, conduct independent research, and communicate effectively.

Earning the AP Capstone Diploma is a significant accomplishment and is officially recognized on AP score reports sent to colleges and universities, highlighting a student's dedication to academic excellence and college readiness.

The Hallsville FFA Chapter has been recognized as a Texas Gold-Ranked Chapter in the prestigious National Chapter Award Program for the 2025-2026 school year and has earned advancement to the national level of competition.

In addition, Hallsville FFA was named a Premier Chapter in the Growing Leaders Division, highlighting the chapter's outstanding commitment to developing leadership skills, fostering personal growth, and preparing students for future success.

The National Chapter Award recognizes FFA chapters that actively implement quality programs and activities that emphasize student development, leadership, community involvement, and agricultural education. Achieving Texas Gold status places Hallsville FFA among the top-performing chapters in the state.

Advancing to the national competition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of Hallsville FFA members, advisors, volunteers, and supporters who continually strive for excellence both inside and outside the classroom.

The Texas Legislature has enacted a new law banning the use of cell phones and personal communication devices in Texas schools. In alignment with House Bill 1481, Hallsville ISD will enforce these regulations regarding the use of personal communication devices during the instructional day.

Guidelines

Prohibited Use:

• Students may not use personal cell phones or school-issued devices for personal communication.

• House Bill 1481 prohibits the use of personal communication devices anywhere on campus during the instructional day — including hallways, restrooms, and common areas. The instructional day is defined from the first bell to the last bell, including all scheduled class periods, meals, and transitions.

• Devices must remain powered off, out of sight, or stored in a teacher-provided location.

Electronic Communication:

• Students are not permitted to use personal or school-issued devices to call, text, message, or engage in online chats.

• This includes the use of apps and services for texting, messaging, or calling.

Emergency Contact Procedures:

• Parents and guardians who need to contact their child during the school day must call the campus front office. Staff will ensure that messages are delivered promptly.

Prohibited Personal Communication Devices Include:
Cell phones, smart watches, tablets, pagers, handheld gaming devices, wireless headphones/Ear Buds.

What Parents Can Do:

• Speak to your child about this new policy.

• Encourage appropriate cell phone use.

• Promote the importance of student focus during instructional time.

Disciplinary actions for violating this policy will follow the Hallsville ISD Code of Conduct.
